Chippa United chases Bernard Morrison to return money

Chippa United have ordered Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Morrison to return funds that has been deposited in the player's account after he rejected a move to the Chilli Boys in a massive transfer drama.

The Eastern Cape outfit has been left embarrassed after 25-year-old labeled as 'fake news' reports that he's signed a deal with the side.

United claimed last week that it has signed a long-term deal with the Ghanaian - but have been left red-faced after the player took to Facebook to rubbish the claims by the South African side.

The club has been left angered by the public comment of the former Ashantigold midfielder with club chairman Siviwe Mpengesi calling on the player to return money deposited in his account.“Everything was in place for Morrison’s move, and we gave him a relocation allowance of R24,000 at his request. But once he’d been granted his clearance [from Pirates], it seemed he had a change of heart," explained Mpengesi.

"I am disappointed by the statemements by Morrison to the public, referring to our announcement as ‘fake news’. I have been unable to reach him and his agent lately. All I want is for him to return my money."

Morrison is now a free agent after being released by giants Orlando Pirates.
