Ken Ofori-Atta, Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, Finance Minister

Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo has said workers in the Banking sector will continue to work at the peril of their lives as long as the "inconsiderate" Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta remains in office.

He alleged that Ken Ofori Atta who’s only in office to enrich himself is bent on collapsing the banking sector for his own gains.

“He’s collapsed our banking sector, when they inherited the supposed bankrupt economy, that economy in the first four months of 2017 which they said was the worst economy was able to give new loans of 2.8 billion to businessmen to do business and expand. In this 8.5 expanded economy they’re only able to give only 600 million, 600 million one major project which collapses will take care of that money so now what are the banks doing, that is why they’re laying off workers. Beige is sending off 500 workers, there are plans to lay off 5000 workers and you think this ministers should still be sitting there? and they say he’s an asset, I don’t know what he would have been if he were a liability,” Hon. Adongo who’s a member of the Finance Committee of Parliament told Bola Ray on Starr Chat.

He added: “When people were in school some of the best prestigious jobs they wanted to do is in the banking sector, today you work in the banking sector at the peril of your life if Ken Ofori Atta still sits there because he’ll collapse the sector.”

Hon. Adongo added that Ken Ofori Atta is the worst performing minister in the Akufo Addo administration.

According to him, his valued judgement of the minister’s work is evidenced in the manner in which the latter’s incompetence has resulted in the running down of the economy resulting in several job loses.
