City Light to brighten Accra City Campus

Accra, Oct. 1, GNA - The Accra City Campus of the University of Ghana on Friday received lighting facilities valued at 16 million cedis from City Light, an Accra-based lighting system company. The provision of the lighting facilities had become an urgent need for the Campus to improve the security situation to ward off miscreants from breaking into vehicles of students and lecturers.

Mrs Cynthia Opoku, President of the Students Representative Council, said the Campus, which basically organises lectures in the evenings, had in recent times recorded a number of thefts as thieves took advantage of the poor lighting system. She said the SRC had already purchased poles for project. Mr Emmanuel Okesson, Managing Director of the Company, said the gesture formed part of their corporate responsibility towards public

institutions and organizations. Mr T. Tabi, Director of Academic Affairs of the University, received the items on behalf of the Campus and expressed gratitude to City Light for coming to their aid.
