Dr. Paul k. Yegbe, a Urologist, has called on Ghanaians to take active interest in sports to enable them to stay healthy at all times.

He said sports has played a major role in the socio-economic development of every nation and that it must be taken seriously, if the country was to derive maximum benefits from the citizenry.

Dr. Yegbe was speaking at the end of a health walk in Accra, organized by the Past students of the St Paul’s Senior High School, Denu in the Volta Region.

The 10-kilometre walk formed part of activities marking the 60th-anniversary celebration of the school.

About 100 participants, mainly past students, took part in the walk which started from the Army Officers Mess through the El-Wak Stadium to the Opeibea House to Nima through some principal street of the capital and ended at the starting point.

Dr Yegbe also urged Ghanaians to undergo regular medical check-ups to know their health status.

It would also enable them to live lifestyles that promote healthy living to make them economically viable and self- supporting.

DOI Prince Billy Anaglatey, Chairman of the Publicity Committee of the Association urged past students to contribute meaningfully to the development of their alma mater which had made them what they are today.

He also urged the students to desist from negative tendencies that could ruin their future aspirations.
