GRA gives tax defaulters 31st August deadline to settle obligations

Businesses and individuals who fail to take advantage of the Tax Amnesty period to settle their tax obligations with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) before 31st August 2018 will suffer dire consequences, assistant commissioner for communication and public affairs at GRA, Kwasi Bobie-Ansah has said.

The Tax Amnesty offers a limited-time opportunity for taxpayers and potential ones who have defaulted in their tax obligations to come out voluntarily and honour their obligations in exchange for clemency of the interest and penalties in some cases.

Assistant commissioner for communication and public affairs for GRA, Kwasi Bobie-Ansah during a clean-up exercise held in Accra said the authority is urging tax defaulters to take full advantage of the ongoing policy to file their tax obligations without a penalty, or face prosecution after 31st August 2018.

He said GRA will vigorously pursue all tax defaulters including prosecuting them after the expiration of the amnesty period.
