Prisons Service benefit from Avcontech generosity

Having already donated CCTV cameras and accessories to more than five police stations, security firm Avcontech have extended their donations to the Ghana Prisons Service.

The wholly-Ghanaian owned company have been on donation spree, gifting the police service with security equipment but have now reached out to the Ghana Prisons Service.

The firm has donated 18 cameras, its accessories and one printer to the Ghana Prisons service at their headquarters in Accra

Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah second vice chairman for the Security and Defence in Parliament was there to grace the occasion.

The donation which forms part of the company’s resolve to ensure that the Police and Prison services have the needed equipment for effective monitoring and surveillance has seen the company donate security materials worth hundreds of cedis to the security institutions.

The Chief Executive Officer of Avcontech, Nana Kwaku Ofori Atta in a chat with the media, pressed home the need for the citizens to collaborate with the security services to fish out the criminals in the society.

He disclosed that as citizens, “we owe the country a duty to help the government improve the security situation in the country”.

He also made a clarion call on the private sector to assist him and the government provide the security agencies with the modern gadgets needed to facilitate their works.

“Private entities and government should assist me to be able to embark on this pilot project of surveillance systems in our country whereby we are going to ensure that our country is well-built and well networked in terms of security so that it can minimize corruption and at the same time cure insecurities in the country.

Collins Owusu Amankwa lauded the company for their charitable works which he asserts, ties in with the government's plan of digitalizing the security agencies.
