Head of Operations for MacAndy Executives Academy, Andrew Atariwini Head of Operations for MacAndy Executives Academy, Andrew Atariwini

Head of Operations at MacAndy Executives Academy, Andrew Atariwini, has said it is about time the leadership of the country give the security agencies some level of autonomy.

He said the laws of the country are in books but practically they are nowhere to be found.

He said the long hand of political power into the affairs of the security in the country must stop.

Speaking to Radio Ghana’s Samuel Ayammah in Bolgatanga, Mr. Atariwini stated that one major problem confronting the country’s security agencies is political interference.

He said the country’s leadership must allow the security agencies in the country do their work independently.

According to him, the country will suffer if the security agency in the country loses its integrity. Reacting to the comments made the Deputy General Security of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho, Mr. Atariwini described the comments as reckless, unpatriotic and very divisive.

He said the comments made by Mr. Anyidoho must not be treated or seen as a political talk.

He said nobody should hide under the sleeves of a political party and make such unpardonable comments that have the tendency of bringing chaos into the country.

He said if such comments are dealt with to its logical conclusion people in the country will take a cue out of that and it will also go a long way to serve as a deterrent to others.

He said Mr. Anyidoho must be made to face the full rigorous of the law.

Mr. Atariwini said politicians in the country must know and understand that the country is governed by law. He noted that said even though as a country there is the need for the people to learn how to accommodate dissenting opinions but comments made by Mr. Anyidoho must be discouraged.

He said government must resource the various security agencies in the country to enable them execute their mandate.

Meanwhile, Mr. Atariwini who is vying for Upper East Regional Youth Organizer of the NPP described the alleged list which contains names of some people contesting various positions in the region claiming to have come from the Presidency with the indication that those names on the list are the people President Akufo-Addo says he can work with as useless and should be discarded by delegates in the region.

He underscored the need for all contestants in the region to desist from attacking each other.

He said all the aspirants should know that this election is a family affair and the winner at the end of the election will need the support of the loser.

He said the election slated for 24th April, 2018 is aimed at restructuring the party ahead of 2020 parliamentary and presidential elections.

He said the party should continue to maintain the zeal, work together, have internal disciplinary mechanism that is able to straighten people that are not going in tandem with their laws and principles and also continue to rally strongly behind Akufo Addo’s led administration.

Mr. Atariwini appealed to the delegates to elect someone who can win more souls for the party.

He charged eligible voters in the NPP to reject any aspirant who will try to influence their decision with material things and empty promises.
