A 10-year-old boy died after he was trapped in a locked car for 10 hours at Akyem New Tafo in the Eastern Region.

The body of the deceased, identified as Odei Adarkwa Alex, has been deposited at Akyem Tafo Government Hospital while the police have arrested the suspect driver of the car to assist in investigation.

Information indicated that the boy Odei Adarkwa, of Feeding Preparatory School, was reportedly sacked for GH¢20.00 school fees, a development that led to his unfortunate death.

A family member of the boy, Ofori Boadu, explained that the family is scandalised by the incident.

Meanwhile, the Akyem Tafo District Police Command has confirmed the incident and said that they have begun with investigations to determine the cause of his death.
