The Deputy National General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in charge of operations, Koku Ayidoho has denied reports by the media saying his “go to preach and live with animals in the zoo” comment was directed at Pastor Mensa Otabil of the International Central Gospel Church.

“Did I mention anyone’s name in the video of my interview with Ghanaweb?” He quizzed.

“It was just a conversation when I mentioned that, today there are people who are not speaking because NPP is in power meanwhile these same people would have chided us should it be the NDC in power. So I was just talking about that”. He told King Edward on Kumasi based Hello-Fm, monitored by MYNEWSGH.com.

In trying to argue his point out he was made to understand by the host that, Pastor Mensah Otabil is the only one who had made such comment but Mr. Ayidoho denied having any idea about the issue.

He, however, did not reject the fact that somebody had made similar comments but firmly indicated he did not know it was Otabil insisting his comments were not directed at the clergyman in person but to the general public.

Mr Koku Anyidoho in an exclusive interview with Ghanaweb’s Kyenkyenhene Boateng reportedly advised the founder of International Central Gospel Church, Pastor Mensa Otabil to go and live with animals in the zoo and preach to them if he was not comfortable with what was pertaining in the Ghanaian media landscape regards the performance of government.

In the 21-minute interview, he was quoted as saying: “Suddenly, some pastors say that today they watch animals. They are prepared to watch antelopes and giraffes. When he watches animals, he will learn how to hunt…Yes, he will watch more animals.”

Many were naturally of the view that he was indirectly referring to the man of God Otabil who had made reference to watching animals to pick lessons, but Koku Ayidoho flatly denied saying he was not aware Pastor Mensah Otabil ever made such comments.
