Stock index falls on Cocoa Products Company loss

Accra, Aug. 9, GNA - The main index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) fell in a quiet trading on Monday on account of the loss by Cocoa Products Company (CPC).

The GSE All-Share Index lost 15.99 points to bring it down to 7,340.69 points in trading that saw 125,400 shares changing hands from Friday's close of 743,700.

Change for the year was also down at 106.58 per cent from 107.03 per cent during the previous trading.

Market capitalisation also opened the week lower at 97,818.77 billion cedis from 97,859.75 billion cedis on Friday. On the broader market there were three price changes - two up one down.

Accra Brewery Limited gained five cedis at 1,460 cedis and Clydstone continued its impressive run with a 25-cedi gain at 1,545 cedis while Cocoa Products Company lost 50 cedis at 1,900 cedis.
