The University of Ghana will soon have to its credit an Engineering Institute aimed at training students in the engineering field at the tertiary level.

This is according to the Vice-Chancellor of the tertiary institution, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu who revealed that the University is currently in talks with Toyota Ghana to secure a partnership deal to put up the infrastructure.

Professor Owusu was speaking at a forum themed; “The Power of Partnership: Strengthening Education” which capitalizes on the importance of partnering with competent bodies to achieve a mutual course.

Addressing the audience at the gathering, the Professor said the University among other things have signed agreements with private organisations and government as a joint-action to help combat some socio-economic and environment struggles the country is faced with.

“It will interest you to note that currently we have signed an agreement with even the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to help with all this pest problems associated with vegetables, the army worm issue, issues of cocoa in terms of the capsules and the insecticide usage. So we are using our expertise to do it,” he noted.

“The Engineering Faculty is in link with Toyota Foundation and Toyota Company is proudly going to help us build and engineering training school,” Professor Owusu added.
