Tema Mayor cuts sod for construction of 12-Unit classroom Block at Manhean Presby

As part of efforts by the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) to promote education in the metropolis, Mr Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La, Mayor of Tema on Thursday cut a sod to commence the construction of a 12-Unit Classroom block for the Tema Manhean presby Primary School.

    The project constitute part of the series of interventions the Tema Metropolitan Assembly is rolling out to improve educational infrastructure in the Metropolis.

    Mr Anang-La said the 12-Unit Classroom block would addressed the challenges associated with space among the growing population of the school.

    He also envisage that the new building when completed would create a serene environment to improve teaching and learning in this school.

    The Mayor said the assembly will continue to expand and improve educational institutions in the Metropolis under the Tema Restoration Agenda and urged all its major stakeholders to continue to support the Tema Restoration Agenda to achieve the assembly targeted set goals and objectives.

    He said: “Upon my assumption of office as Mayor of Tema, I visited a number of public schools to assess their condition and the Manhean Presby was the first to be visited which I then saw as dilapidated. It is therefore in order that today we are cutting the sod for work to commence on our educational intervention after work on fencing all public schools in Tema metropolis started.”

    He took the opportunity to announced that the TMA was currently embarking on a data collection exercise which  intends to update its data on all businesses operating within the Metropolis.

    This Mr Anang-La said was to help in the assembly’s planning for development programmes and call on all to support and cooperate with the field workers in that direction.

    Dignitaries present at the programme were Mrs Margaret Nsiah Asamoah, the Metropolitan Director of Education, Nii Adjei Kraku, the Tema Mantse, Nii Mator and Nii Odametey , the Chief Fishermen, Rev George Anyetei Tsakle, the District Minister and Nuumo Ashiboi Kofi, the Chief Priest, Teachers and Staff of the School and Women Fellowship Groups within the metropolis.
