National Food Buffer Stock company has ordered for the withdrawal of unwholesome flour distributed to some Senior High Schools in the Ashanti region.

The schools had begun complaining of a sour taste from meals prepared from the said flour which was supplied to the schools to serve students.

Some Matrons who spoke to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo on condition of anonymity blamed the situation on the challenges of running the Free Senior High School program.

They appealed to government to change the products and also resolve the late and inadequate supply of food stuff for the students.

Senior Operations Officer of the National Food Buffer Stock Company, Arnold Kojo Ackah explained that the flour sent to the schools were not for household consumption.

He however points out that the company that distributed the flour has been ordered to withdraw the flour at its own cost as a punitive measure.
