Coach Mercy Tagoe elated to win a trophy with Black Queens

Coach of the Black Queens Mercy Tagoe- Quarcoo who made history over the weekend after guiding the Queens to the WAFU Zone B Women Championship title says it was a dream come true for her to win a title which elapsed her during her playing days.

Mercy Tagoe a former player of the senior national women team after the game explained the reason why wept which according to her were tears of joy.

“I am very happy I have been able to win this title with the Black Queens. When I played for the Black Queens we were not able to win any trophy and I am glad I have been able to win one as a coach”.

The retired referee was appointed assistant deputy coach to former Head coach Didi Dramani who resigned from his position to take a job in Denmark.

Mercy Tagoe after this victory may be given the nod to lead the team to the upcoming Africa Women Cup of Nations which will be hosted in Ghana in November.

Some key officials of the Black Queens management committee have praised her for her tactics as well as her relationship with the players.

The Black Queens defeated host nation Ivory Coast to annex the trophy.
