GFA erred in Sellas Tetteh's appointment as Black Queens coach – Saanie Daara

The GFA said Sellas Tetteh was not consulted before the appointment was announced

Ghana Football Association spokesperson, Ibrahim Saanie Daara says his outfit erred in announcing Coach Sellas Tetteh as the new coach of the Black Queens of Ghana.

The experienced trainer was announced by the Ghana FA as the new head coach of the female senior national team few weeks ago, but it turns out no consultation was done with the former U-20 World Cup winner, and this has brought some discomfort between
Coach Sellas Tetteh and the Football Association.

According to Saanie Daara, he and his team at the communication department of the Ghana Football made a mistake on Sellas Tetteh's appointment publication.

The Black Queens of Ghana have been without a head coach after the departure of Coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani, who is currently working with Danish side FC Nordjaelland.

"We made a mistake on the publication that Coach Sellas Tetteh has been appointed to take over the Black Queens. We have not officially spoken to him on the coaching job," Daara told Accra-based Asempa FM.

"It's not that we are doubting his competence. He is a one of the finest coaches in the country, but no contract has been signed."

Assistant Coach Mercy Tagoe is now in charge as the Black Queens in the ongoing WAFU Women's Cup in Ivory Coast.
