Upper West Regional Minister suspended over NADMO Boss attack

President Akufo-Addo has suspended the Upper West Regional Minister, Alhaji Sulemana Alhassan from office with immediate effect, pending the outcome of an investigations into the alleged attack on the Regional NADMO Boss.

A statement from the Presidency and signed by the Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin indicated that the “Deputy Regional Minister, Mr Amidu Ishaq will act as Regional Minister in the interim pending the conclusion of the investigation.”

Some youth believed to be associated with the Wa East constituency branch of the governing New Patriotic Party,NPP yesterday attacked the Regional NADMO boss.

The youth invaded the Regional office of NADMO making away with office equipment and some unspecified amount of cash on Wednesday evening.

However, NADMO staff who are reportedly angry over the attack on their office and the stealing of an amount of GHC 5,000 vowed that until some action is taken against the attackers who are youth of the governing NPP , they will not report for duty.

Sources at the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council say the police were able to arrest three suspects in connection with the mayhem, but according to them , the minister ordered for their release.
