The anniversary is being held under the theme: “Leaving a Lasting Legacy: Impacting Families and the Community.”

Mrs Adjepong said the theme was to tell the world that education is not just about academic success but community development as well.

She said, to this end, it is necessary for the introduction of the new project which would help parents advance their training courses and also encourage them take up short courses.

She urged people who have ideal business plans and ideas to start implementing them now without waiting for huge resources, adding that they should find new ways of doing things and should not be static in their decisions.

“You need to learn and grow on the business to keep sustaining it and that with the grace of God, patience and perseverance you will surely get there,” Mrs Adjepong said.

She said even though children could not be stopped from using technology, parents must teach them how to use it to steer them away from any danger.
Mrs Adjepong outlined some of the events that would take place during the anniversary celebration.

On May 19, she said, there would be a summit for parents from “skilled African”, a “Power Girls Day” on May 26, a Family Fun Day on June 16, graduation on June 21 and a thanksgiving service on June 22.

There would also be a Ghana Tour on July 9–15, a “Summer Skillz Junior Camp” for the less privileged ones who would want the best quality school care on the June 23 – August 17 August and a “Summer Skillz Camp” on July 30-August 10.

Dr Naomi Adjepong, the Operations Manager of the school, said the Skill Up Africa programme, which is a “Master Class Series” offers clients a range of workshops with seasoned professionals who provide real-life insights in areas such as sales and marketing, public speaking and entrepreneurship.

She said the “Learn to Earn” program allows clients to learn hands-on skills which they can either learn just for their own personal developments or use to earn an additional income.

“With our wide range of experience in education, we hope to inspire, equip and empower teachers all over Ghana with our Professional Development Program for teachers which would be delivered by seasoned educational experts both locally and internationally,” Dr Adjepong said.

She said investing in people both personally and professionally was the key to raising productivity in Africa and allowing the continent to blossom and fulfil its true potential and urged all to take up a course in Skill Up Africa.

The Alpha Beta Education Centre was founded by Sammy and Florence Adjepong who relocated from the UK in 1986. The school began with six children, ages two to three years under the carport of their home in Dansoman in September 1988.

The success of the pre-school resulted in the establishment of the kindergarten in 1991 which was followed by the start of the first phase of Alpha Beta Primary and Junior.
