Disregard fake news over delay in January salaries - Mustapha Hamid

Mustapha Hamid, the Minister for Information has stated that information that went viral on social media platforms that the salaries of the public sector workers will be delayed for January 2018 is false.

The Spokesperson for the President while addressing journalists in Accra in a news conference dismissed the rumours saying that Controller and Accountant General's Department (CAGD) had sent payment advice of the public sector workers to various banks on Friday January 19, 2018.

The Information Minister said "I wish to state that it is fake news and should be disregarded".

This claims went viral when a communique was sent on whatsapp over the weekend allegedly signed by the Accountant General Eugene Ofosuhene.
