The Ghana Journalists Association, (GJA) has described as harsh the decision by the GBC Board to ask its Director-General, Dr. Kwame Akuffo Anoff-Ntow, to proceed on leave over the TV license brouhaha.

The GJA has therefore asked National Media Commission, (NMC) to reverse GBC Boards decision and let the Director General to resume work.

The Association says the decision is wrong because the Board does not wield the power to do so.

These were in a statement signed by the General Secretary of the Association Kofi Yeboah.

In a separate development, the President of GJA, Roland Affail Monney says he was surprised that no journalist posed a question as to why the Right to Information bill has still not been passed.

He said as a member of the Right to Information Coalition he had wanted to find out from the President if he has the commitment to getting the bill passed but could not have the opportunity to do so.

Speaking to Radio Ghana's Felix Cofie, Mr. Monney said, the Coalition will find other avenues to meet with the President on the Right to Information bill
