Schalke Boss Christian Hiedel has revealed Ghanaian defender Baba Rahman is keen on returning to the club in the January transfer window.

The left back has been out since picking up an injury at the Africa Cup of nations twelve months ago, when he was on loan at German side Schalke.

Baba Rahman has struggled to break into the Chelsea team and has barely been given a look at by Chelsea's Italian Coach Antonio Conte.

After several months of inactivity, the player has began his rehabilitation and Schalke Chief Christian Hiedel has indicated the player wants to return to Germany with the Blue Skies.

"The player wants to join us. It is now a matter of principle whether his home club Chelsea wants to relinquish him,” Heidel explained.

"We are aiming for a longer loan with Baba than with Marko Pjaca, who has come to us from Juventus until the end of the season."

The Ghanaian left back has also emerged a subject of transfer for several clubs in Europe with Galatasaray and Fiorentina the top suitors.

According to reports in Turkey Rahman and Manchester United left back Luke Shaw are top target for Galatasaray but with the laters recent role at United, Baba remains the only choice for the Turks.
