The Ga West Municipal Assembly would, for the next four years, focus on the renovation and construction of new school blocks in some communities under its jurisdiction to enhance teaching and learning.

The school blocks would include senior and junior high schools and kindergarten and the provision of semi-detached two bedroom teacher’s quarters to enable the teachers to stay in the communities.

The communities, which would benefit, include Pokuase, Akotoshie Number ‘2’, Agortikope, Katapor, Otsirikomfo, Oduman, Otuaplem, Kpobiman Zongo, Obeyeyie, Mayera, Kutunse, Afiaman, Sarpeiman, Odumtia, Samsam, Dedeiman, Gati, Havour, Konkonman, Korleman, Donkorman, Saviour Church Mission – Victokope, Medie, and Bodumase.

Mr Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkson, the Ga West Municipal Chief Executive, disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at the weekend at a forum organised by the Assembly on its Medium Term Development Plan.

It was attended by traditional rulers, assembly members, opinion leaders, traders and developmental heads of the Assembly.

Mr Wilkson said the projects would help abolish the school shift system, which still existed in the Municipality, while providing teaching and learning materials to enhance the education of children.
