With the era of Social Media, rumours get started and spread quickly. So many well-known people in Ghana have not been spared from such distasteful acts which usually turn out to be a hoax.

The latest target was the Chairman/CEO of Urban Alternatives Group, Dr C. J. Buckman, who disclosed that rumours of his death was not just once but twice this year; one in September and the other in December.

He made the revelation at the maiden edition of Thanksgiving, Praise and Worship service by the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International, Founder’s Chapter held at Kempinski Gold Coast City Hotel on December 17, 2017.

The Motivational speaker disclosed that he was informed about one of his alleged death when he was invited to a conference in the company of his Prophet two weeks ago. According to him the pastor, who was the host, told him of his intention to cancel the event after he heard rumours of his (Dr Buckman’s) death.

“….2017 has been a very incredible year for most of us year. I don’t know about you but as I speak now 2 weeks ago, I was supposed to have died. I went to a conference to speak with my Prophet and the pastor calls me and said they almost cancelled the meeting because there were rumours that I had died,” Dr. Buckman said.

Founder of the Charles Buckman Foundation added that he found it appalling and disheartening for someone to wish another’s death without confirming.

He told the story of a young Ghanaian lady who took to Facebook to announce his ‘death’ after he suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital while in the U.K. Dr Buckman said the lady who was the Janitor on duty at the time saw him on a stretcher and presumed he was dead despite making eye contact.

“…..something happened a few years back. I suffered a heart attack so they ask me to lie on the stretcher. The Paramedics put me in the ambulance to go to John Radcliffe in Oxford. I saw this girl mopping; she saw me and I saw her. We made eye contact. But before I could say Jack, she took to Facebook to spread false rumours about my death.”

Nonetheless, while addressing attenders in an exhortation he stressed that the year 2017 has been a good because God has been on his side and protected him. The spiritual leader thus charged the audience not to worry about negative happenings but should look forward a good year come 2018.

“Twice this year that people had rumoured that I had died but if it had not been for the Lord who was on my side where would I be? So this afternoon I want to exhort you that no matter what happens, no matter what you’ve been through in 2017, 2018 promises to be a great year,” he encouraged.
