Suspended General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong was on Sunday spotted at the party’s extraordinary delegates conference dressed like a ‘Sheik’ or a Muslim Scholar.

Mr Agyepong who was cheered on as he exchanged pleasantries with delegates was seen all beaming with smiles in his all-white attire.

It is not known if his mode of dressing was deliberate or he has converted to Islam as that attire is associated with Muslim Scholars and respected Muslim leaders.

The NPP suspended its 2nd Vice Chairman, Sammy Crabbe, alongside Mr. Agyepong in 2015, after they were accused of publicly rebelling against the party’s decision to indefinitely suspend its National Chairman, Paul Afoko.

There have been calls for the reinstatement of Mr Agyapong who continuously attend party events but the move has been shot down by some leaders of the party who indicate that he has not changed for which reason he was suspended.

One such person who disagrees with the move is Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako affectionately called Chairman Wontumi.

“Kwabena Agyepong should not be called back. He is no more needed because he has not shown remorse for his actions leading to his suspension and so those calling for his return should shut up.

“Being suspended doesn’t mean you have been sacked. Infact, suspension is very good because it makes you stronger and forces you to turn into a new leaf” he was quoted as saying on Accra based Neat fm.
