One of the victims of the Influenza H1N1 outbreak at the Kumasi Academy Senior High School (KUMACA) Clementina Kunadu has been laid to rest at Bremang in the Ashanti region.

Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo reported from the funeral grounds that friends and sympathizers including students and teachers of the deceased paid their last respect at Krofrom today, Tuesday, December 12, 2017.

The second-year female student was among four students who died of the virus at the school.

17-year-old Konadu passed away on Tuesday, December, 5, 2017 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) hospital in Kumasi.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Health Service has slammed the media for creating panic and misinforming Ghanaians over the outbreak.

Speaking on the Morning Starr Tuesday, the Public relations officer of the Ghana Health Service Rebecca Ackwonor said the media made efforts to manage the crisis difficult.

“The media was misinforming the general public as to what was happening at KUMACA and it was that which caused the panic. The news making rounds in the media was louder than our voice. The school management not believing and accepting the advice from the GHS was as a result of the news circulating in the media”.
