Ghana Free Zones Authority to reward listed companies next year - CEO

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Mr. Michael Okyere Baafi, has stated that the Authority will next year reward companies listed on the Free Zones.

According to him, the Authority has never organized an awards ceremony for its companies but will do so hopefully in 2018.

Speaking to Kasapa Fm’s Leticia Ohene-Asiedu on Business Digest with Tish, Mr. Okyere Baafi said the event will be a very memorable one since it is the first of its kind.

He said some companies who want to join the Free Zones usually do not meet the standards of the Authority because they are not fully incorporated in Ghana.

He said it is the responsibility of the Ghana Free Zones Authority to ensure that companies, who want to join meet all the necessary requirements of the Authority before added.

Mr. Okyere Baafi again indicated that since the duty of the Free Zones is more of export, companies who want to join must be ready to export 70% of their products and refusal to do so cannot guarantee membership.
