One injured as irate customers besiege ECG office at Circle over credit shortage

At least one person has been injured in a scuffle at the ECG offices at Avenor near the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra after scores of customers besieged the premises following challenges in procuring credit to recharge their prepaid meters.

Some customers who spoke to Starr News about the challenge said their homes have been without power for more than five days now. They said all efforts to purchase credit around Dansoman and its environs have been unsuccessful.

Reacting to the development, a principal PRO with the ECG Eric Asante told Starr News management of the power distributor are aware of the challenge and are working to address it.

“The problem is a network challenge in the Accra West area including Dansoman. We have men on the ground trying to resolve it.

“We are aware that over 80,000 customers have been affected by this challenge and our staff are on the grounds working to resolve it,” he said.
