Three first-year students of Kumasi Academy Senior High School (KUMACA) have died Tuesday morning bringing the death toll recorded in the school to six within a week.

The deceased whose names are yet to be made public were suffering from what is believed to be Cerebrospinal meningitis.

Kasapafmonline.com sources in the school say 24 students are currently on admission at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Hospital and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

In total, the number of deaths recorded in the school this year (2017) has hit 13, as seven students died around April.

School authorities have remained reticent over the incident, as blood samples of the affected students have been reportedly sent to the Noguchi Memorial Institute in Accra for examination.
