Ghana is set to supply 100 megawatts of power to Burkina Faso after the country requested that Ghana supply them with power.

Ghana has also benefited from such arrangements having supplied and received power from countries like Ivory Coast and Nigeria.

The Minister of Energy, Mr Boakye Agyarko in a press conference espoused the benefit Ghana is set to gain from supplying power to Burkina Faso.

According to him, ‘’ One of the benefits is the revenue to be derived from the sale of power, 2nd is covering up capacity charges currently we have plants sitting idle and we have to still pay the charges for it, but if we are able use the plant to generate power for others we can cover the cost and not run at a loss.’’ He disclosed.
