'Gay' journalist absconds after death threats

A Kumasi-based journalist, Ali Abubakar is on the ran following the death of a UK-based gay partner known as Frank.

Ali's wife, Hajia Rukaya has revealed that the husband is hiding in Canada for fear of losing his life.

And narrating what accounted for his run, Rukaya indicated that on June 19, her husband was seen with Frank in Ali's car kissing at a Moslem Community(Zongo) in Kumasi.

According to her, she did not know the husband was a gay until the death of Frank.

The surprised wife said their 'unusual' friendship angered the residents and knowing Ali as respected opinion Moslem leader in the community, and against Islam, young men in the area charged on Frank, assaulted him physically which led to his death in June.

She added that Ali managed to escape but the angry residents have threatened to kill him(Ali) as well if he dares return to Ghana, hence his disappearance from Ghana.
