I Have Experience ? Senior Minister

The senior minister, Mr. J.H. Mensah, has said that he has acquired considerable knowledge and experience which are relevant to the business of Parliament.

He said the business of parliament is not about age but making good laws, over-seeking the work of government and promoting the interest of the state.

Mr. Mensah who is also the MP for Sunyani East stated that all the arguments about age and youthfulness are useless, explaining that that was why he had not taken any part of such discussions. The senior minister was reacting to concerns raised by a section of the people in the Sunyani area that he is too old and has outlived his usefulness so he should step down for one of the young people among his five challengers in the upcoming NPP primary to replace him in Parliament.

He emphasized that what the people in the Sunyani East constituency need is a representative who can speak for them effectively and promote the progress of the new municipality.

He concluded that he would not make any noise, but expressed optimism that the electorate who had seen the good work he had done for the constituency in particular and Ghana in general would retain him in Parliament come December.
