Member of parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has stated that there is one reason former president John Mahama always feels bold to speak.

According to the MP, this is because some members of the previous government are yet to be prosecuted for their actions whilst in government.

In a report by mynewsgh.com, he added that he is at a loss as to why the present government is yet to deal with the issue. Speaking on Oman FM’s National Agenda Show on Wednesday 8th November 2017, he stated that the delay has fueled comments from persons such as former president Mahama.

He added that such comments are in the form of accusations of corrupt practices by members of the current government.

Kennedy Agyapong further stated that but for the present situation, John Mahama would not have spoken the way he did during the Unity Walk organized by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He revealed that some Minority members in parliament are certain some colleagues of theirs would go to jail. This, he added, was the reason why they were doing all they can to frustrate the passing of the Special Prosecutor’s Bill.

He went on to say that most State Attorneys at the Attorney-General’s department are NDC members. This, he stated, would hinder the progress of the department in its attempts at prosecution.

He explained that the government would therefore fail if there are no alternative arrangements.
