Akufo-Addo’s government is 'tugyimi' - Kwaku Boahen

Deputy National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kwaku Boahen Deputy National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kwaku Boahen

The Deputy National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kwaku Boahen has referred to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government as ‘’tugyimi’’.

‘’Tugyimi’’ is a term used to describe an unwholesome form of rice grain in the local language and Kwaku Boahen minced no words in describing the current administration as such.

Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, Kwaku Boahen said, the current administration came into office to amass wealth for themselves and not to improve upon the lives of the poor.

The NPP he posited have taken Ghanaians for granted after deceiving them to vote for them. The president he alleged appointed his family member Ken Ofori-Atta as the Finance Minister anad other appointees to help him so they will help him [Nana Addo] rob the state in their selfish interest.

The president he lamented has taken the position of an ‘I don’t care’ personality and ignoring the plight of the Ghanaian voter. The reduction in fuel promises and other commodities he noted was a scam promised Ghanaians in 2016. The NDC will bounce back in 2020.

We will surely come back in 2020 because whatever brought the NPP into office will send them back into opposition, he said. According to him, Kennedy Agyepong the Assin Central MP has made claims that the party did not win the polls in 2016 fairly and that will soon be exposed.

He said, the promise by Nana Addo to contruct good roads has hit a snag, the free senior school is also facing serious challenges, all other promises by the NPP is gradually becoming impossible.. The NPP is currently exibiting extreme arrogance. They are power drunk and that is what will cause their 2020 defeat.
