Kwesi Appiah knows best - Polo on Black Stars squad

Ghana legend, Mohammed Polo, says Ghanaians must give coach Kwesi Appiah the benefit of the doubt following the latter’s latest Black Stars call-ups.

On Tuesday, Appiah released a 24-man squad ahead of World Cup doubleheader against Congo.

The squad consists of two local players, Aduana Stars shot stopper Joseph Addo and WAFA’s Gideon Waja.

“He is in charge and we have to give him the benefit of the doubt,” Polo told Ghanacrusader.com.

“He scouted for the players and he knows what those players can do that is why he invited them.”

Appiah has handed Waja and Aalesund FC winger Edwin Gyasi, their debut Black Stars call-ups and the former Hearts of Oak gaffer said:

“For the new players they are yet to join the team and they are yet to play for the team. We can’t judge them now unless they play so let us give Kwesi Appiah the benefit of the doubt.”

Ghana will host Congo on September 1st before playing the reverse fixture four days later.
