Kotoko agrees personal terms with Burkina Faso 'Iniesta'

Burkina Faso Burkina Faso

Asante Kotoko is in advanced talks with Youssuf Kabore over a potential deal for the Burkina Faso CHAN midfielder as Kwame Kyei prepares to make another huge splash in the transfer market.

Nicknamed the “Burkina Iniesta”, Kabore essentially bossed the midfield during Ghana’s CHAN qualifier against the Les Etalons in Kumasi.

Very dynamic and accurate in his short passes, the Burkinabe turned and stretched the local Black Stars with his mild pace and intelligent passing.
Kabore is not new to the Ghanaian terrain, having featured for Inter Allies two seasons ago, before joining Salitas in his native land.

The Porcupines are making frantic efforts to augment their squad in a bid to challenge for titles next season, and have started negotiations with the Burkinabe over a possible move.

Asante Kotoko’s Executive Chairman, Kwame Kyei flew to Burkina Faso in a company of two other technical experts to scout the Burkinabes for talents, and have been impressed by Traore’s output.

Meanwhile, Kotoko are still pursuing the signatures of Traore Lassana, Sawadogo Illase and Sylla Sydney Mohammed all from Burkina Faso.
Asante Kotoko has been a familiar grounds for players from the landlocked country.

The Reds have welcomed into their hub, Burkinabe stars like Ali Ouadrago, formerly of Etoile Filante , Soulama Abdoulaye and recently Halipha Sedogo
