Vice Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Seth Kofi Poku has expressed surprise at Kotoko’s head coach Steve Pollack following his comments that the penalty awarded his side was not a genuine one.

Responding to Steve Pollack’s post match comments on their game against Nea Salamina that he was embarrassed by the dubious penalty awarded his side, Kofi Poku said he saw it to be a clear penalty and it came as a surprise to him the Kotoko gaffer made such a comment.

Speaking on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports, Kofi Poku said he was also very close to the action just like Steve Pollack and he saw a clear contact that led to the penalty.

“I am really surprised at Steve Pollack for saying that the penalty awarded his side wasn’t a penalty. I even think he should have been sent off the field for some of his actions and gestures on the field. The Kotoko team played poorly yesterday but Pollack was just complaining and throwing tantrums. It was a penalty in my estimation.”

Kotoko beat Division One campaigners Nea Salamina 2-1 following a late penalty.
