Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes are considering a loan move for Alhassan Wakaso in the ongoing summer transfer window, according to media reports.

Wakaso, who joined French side Lorient on a three-and-a-half-year deal from Portuguese Liga NOS outfit Rio Ave during the winter transfer window, is seeking to depart the club following their demotion to Ligue 2 last term.

The 25-year-old has emerged as a prime target for the Guimaraes-based as they augment their squad ahead of the coming top-flight season.

Wakaso is also reported to be a target for fellow Portuguese outfit Portimonense in the ongoing summer transfer window but Guimaraes could steal a match on the newly promoted side.

Alhassan Wakaso is the younger brother of Black Stars midfielder Mubarak Wakaso.
