Asante Kotoko target fourth straight win

The Porcupine Warriors will seek their fourth straight win in the second round of the 2016/17 Premier League when they engage Inter Allies at the El-Wak Sports Stadium on match day 22 on Wednesday. And in the words of Emmanuel Gyamfi, who has been an inspiration in midfield, they are treating every match with equal significance, hoping to continue winning.

Kotoko have grabbed nine points from their last three league matches. On Sunday in Kumasi, the team put up a delightful performance to beat Medeama 3-1. The players are focusing on their next hurdle, Inter Allies in the capital, where they have lost in all their three visits this season but Emmanuel Gyamfi, again isn’t giving up on their chances of victory this time.

“I want to assure our fans that, we will not disappoint them. They’ve to put behind them our past defeats to Hearts and Olympics in Accra. They should come massively so that together we can triumph over Inter Allies” he said.

Inter Allies held Kotoko to a goalless draw in the first round at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. On Wednesday in Accra, they face a stern test against the revived Porcupines. Coach Steven Polack and his team have been on a strong revival. Inter Allies can’t stop Polack’s good work.

Inter Allies have been impregnable at home in the second round beating WAFA, Elmina Sharks and Bechem United – all without conceding but their chances of maintaining their winning form against Kotoko is slim, because Kotoko have equally been strong in their away matches now.

The Porcupines have won two and drawn one in three outings and that certainly gives enough reasons to believe that, Inter Allies will be in for trouble in the big game on Wednesday afternoon. The last time the Porcupines were on the road, the defied oddities to beat Dwarfs 1-0 in Cape Coast. All things being equal in camp and in the game, an away victory is expected.
