Desist from creating confusion; aggrieved Ejisu youth warn Sam Pynn , Ejisu MP

The Ashanti Regional General Secretary of the NPP, Samuel PyneThe Ashanti Regional General Secretary of the NPP, Samuel Pyne

Aggrieved NPP Youth in the Ejisu constituency have cautioned the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Sam Pyne and the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Kwabena Owusu-Aduomi to refrain from triggering further confusion among party members in the Ejisu constituency of the party.

According to them, regional executives of the party have made several efforts at frustrating them. Notable among the accusations was the fact that these party executives prevented constituency members from entering the premises and as a matter of fact, participating in a delegate’s conference organized by youth of the constituency.

In a letter dated 27th June, 2017, the aggrieved youth registered displeasure at the incessant attacks on them, particularly, the “insults and innuendos” supposedly mounted on them from the speeches of the MP, the youth organizer and in fact the Guest of Honor at the conference; Sam Pyne who also is Ashanti Regional secretary for the NPP.

They also accused them of instigating assault on two members in Kwamo merely a week after the conference, a case that is presently before the Ejisu police.

The ‘young patriots’ as they call themselves are therefore threatening “a show down” if these individuals and constituency executives do not halt their activities discontinue these acts which they believe will eventually create division, disaffection and cause the party to suffer massive embarrassment.

Below is written a copy of the letter:

YOUNG PATRIOTS', EJISU - ASHANTI

27th JUNE, 2017

The Regional Executives, New Patriotic Party,

Kumasi- Ashanti
Dear Sir,

PETITION AGAINST EJISU CONSTITUENCY EXECUTIVES AND THE REGIONAL SECRETARY

We collectively write to register our displeasure of the way the executives of the Ejisu constituency conduct themselves. We do not want such issue to receive media attention, hence, taking this step. However, the constituency youth organizer, Henry Duah, had already gone on air to Metro FM.

And now the narrative

The members of the Patriots of Ejisu, Ejisu Zongo and Krapa decided to embark on a clean-up exercise on June 17, 2017, which we did. We had early on sent letters informing and inviting the constituency executives and the MCE of the said social activity. Surprisingly, after these executives had taken receipt of the letter, they went to the police and the BNI to prevent us from undertaking the exercise led by Mr. Brobbey, the constituency secretary.

Both the police and the BNI rubbished their request saying it lacks merit. We undertook the exercise successfully which even caught the attention of the Regional Minister who was passing by. He stopped and congratulated us for that yeoman's job being embarked upon. Later Daniel Asuming, one of our members, received distressed calls from some of the executive members of the constituency.

We still decided not to react. We had our delegate’s conference last Saturday, June 24, and some members were prevented from entering the premises of the event while other group members who are aligned with the MP were allowed entry.

As if that was not enough, the conference itself was not a conference. It was full of insults and innuendos, from the speeches of the MP, our youth organizer and so surprising from the Guest of honor, Sam Pyne, the regional secretary of our dear party.

His was even worse. (We have recordings' of all these characters). In less than a week, there was an assault on two of our members in Kwamo by one of the sub-chiefs of Kwamo. The case is before the Ejisu police.

We believe everyone played a crucial role in ensuring the NPP come to power. No individual can claim credit over the other. We collectively worked and we collectively won. We are calling on you, the regional executives, to take up the matter and bring it to a peaceful resolution. We are always asking you to talk to the regional secretary to stop taking sides in Ejisu issues and behave as our secretary of the region.

This is not his first time. In less than 72 hours from the time we had our delegate’s conference, Sam Payne was at Subin and there was confusion. He should desist from that unacceptable behavior.

We count on you for an amicable resolution.
