West Africa Football Academy [WAFA] silky midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has described his debut invitation to the Black Stars team is a ”dream come true”.

The intelligent midfielder together with his team’s captain Gideon Waja have been handed late call up by coach Kwesi Appiah for Ghana’s double header friendly with Mexico and USA on June 28 and July 1 respectively.

Speaking exclusively to Abusua FM, he said the late call up by Coach Kwesi Appiah has come as a ‘surprise’ to him but will do his utmost best to justify his invitation to the Black Stars team.

”It’s a dream come true because every Ghanaian player hopes to play for the Black Stars and so I am happy to be invited into the team for the Mexico and USA friendlies.”

He added ”he call up came as a surprise to me because I never expected it but I’m just joining the team to do showcase my talent and also learn a lot from the experience players in the team”.

Ashimiru has been an instrumental figure in WAFA’s outstanding form in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

WAFA currently leads the Ghana Premier League with 36 points in 18 matches.
