The friendly match between a team led by former Ghana midfielder Ahmed Ampema Baruso and another team led by Turkish-based striker Emmanuel Banahene ended in a pulsating 1-1 draw.

The Baruso led team tagged ‘Baruso 11’ started the game brightly with some excellent displays much to the delight of the over hundred crowd who had gathered from Mamprobi and its environs.

But it was the Banahene led team known as ‘Mboma 11’ who fetched the opener through a beautiful build up orchestrated by former Hearts midfielder Obed Ansah.

The Mboma 11 team took over the game with Obed Ansah being the chief tormentor in the flesh of Baruso’s side.

The dominance continued unabated in the second half after the introduction of former Hearts midfielder Bobby ‘Short’. His partnership with Obed Ansah in the midfield was one that was reminiscent of their hey days with Accra Hearts of Oak.

But the Baruso 11 team did not give up, they showed resilience and defensive solidity to deal with all the attacks thrown at them by the impressive Mboma team.

Their patience and resoluteness was rewarded in the dying embers of the game when they had the equalizer.

Both teams were made up of current and former footballers who thrilled the crowd with mouthwatering football on the ‘sakora’ pitch.

The Baruso team had in their ranks Baruso himself, former TP Mazembe defender Kisi Boateng whiles the Star studded Mboma team boasted of former Hearts players, Obed Ansah and Bobby Short, Black Stars goalie Razak Brimah and Liberty Professionals striker Bernard Arthur.
