A suspected motorbike thief on Monday June 12, 2017 narrowly escaped a mob attack at Wulugu near Walewale in the West Mamprusi District of the Northern Region.

This incident comes at a time residents of Denkyira-Boase in the Central Region lynched Major Maxwell Adam Mahama of the 5th Infantry Battalion (5BN) and claimed he was an armed robber.

According to residents, the suspect picked the motorbike belonging to one Nantomah Sadat alias Y2K and was on his way to Bolga in the Upper East region to sell it when he was arrested.

But instead of handing him over to the police, he was subjected to all forms of attacks before one of his assailants suggested he should be taken to the police station for further interrogation.

He was subsequently dragged into a taxicab and headed for Walewale where he was handed over to the police who confirmed to mynewsgh.com that they are investigating the matter.

Concerns have been raised about the practice of mob injustice that has bedeviled parts of the country in recent times with police calling on the citizenry to endeavor to handover suspects to them for the necessary processes to be taken in prosecuting them
