StarTimes and SWAG sign deal towards 42nd Awards Ceremony

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) and StarTimes, the international Pay Per View Company on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding to support each other in their respective sporting fields.

The brief ceremony which took place at the StarTime Office was climaxed with Felix Ahonzo, COO promising to support the 42nd SWAG Awards with the presentation Combo Decoders and Dish to some selected award winners, as well as beam the event live on three to five television stations.

According to Mr. Ahonzo, they are starting humbly with SWAG and hope to increase the package in future.

He disclosed that StarTimes who are the proud Broadcast Rights Holders of the Ghana Premier League, the FA Cup and Women’s Football in Ghana have the responsibility of enabling talented sportsmen and women to showcase their skill via television.

He noted that StarTimes was committed to the promotion and development of Ghana Sports.

The President of SWAG, Mr. Kwabena Yeboah who was elated and excited with the new marriage said StarTimes is the fastest growing Pay TV in Ghana, and recommended Ghanaians to patronize their products.

Present at the ceremony was William Ezah, SWAG General Secretary and Akofa Marketing Manager of StarTimes who witnessed the signing.

The 2016 SWAG awards which has MTN has the headline sponsor comes off on Saturday May 2017 at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra.

Other companies that have committed themselves to the SWAG awards are Activa International Insurance, Stanbic Bank and Akosombo Textiles Ltd, the traditional cloth sponsor of SWAG.
