The feud between NPP’s Northern Regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu and the Minister for Gender and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba appears far from ending as the two seem to be incessantly launching scathing attacks on each other following the latter’s visit to the region on Friday May 5.

The latest from the camp of Bugri Naabu is a threat to file a suit against the Gender Minister for having tarnished his reputation by making allegations against him without proof.

“I am coming to find out from her, the person who gave me money or I asked for money from, the person who gave me cow or I asked for cow from, the person who gave me a sheep or a goat, if I asked for it, I’m coming to ask her, I need evidence, if no evidence, I’m putting her before court”, he stated.

Earlier, Otiko Djaba had accused Bugri Naabu of collecting monies, goats and cows as goats in a bid to secure appointments for them from the presidency. She had also alleged that the NPP's Northern Regional Chair had taken huge sums of money from people in exchange for roles as caterers in the award of contracts for caterers of the School Feeding program.

“I want him to stop telling lies about me and to stop collecting people’s things and promising them jobs he cannot give. When he goes and does that, after he has collected their money and their cows and goats, then he will come and put the trouble on Otiko. Otiko will not accept it. If Bugri wants trouble from me then the trouble will come.”

But Bugri Naabu has denied the allegations demanding proof from the Gender Minister on when and how he took the supposed bribes. He maintains he will be heading to court in the coming days to seek redress.

Daniel Bugri Naabu and Otiko Djaba clashed after the latter's meeting with some women in the Northern Region was scuttled by the NPP's Northern Regional chair.

Bugri Naabu accused the Gender Minister of ignoring due process by holding a meeting in the region without his consent, a claim Otiko Djaba refutes.
