Founder and bankroller of division one side Nania FC, Abedi Ayew Pele says he is not interested in the Ghana Football Association (GFA) top job which is expected to be vacant when current president, Kwesi Nyantakyi draws the curtains down on his over a decade reign as GFA president.

The position has been up in the air following Mr Nyantakyi's decision to stepdown in 2019 with lot of names being bandied around.

However the former Black Stars captain who subscribes to the notion that competent ex-footballers must be allowed to handle football in the country has refused to take interest in being Nyantakyi's successor.

"Nyantakyi has done his best for Ghana football. If he wants to stepdown in 2019 then that's good. We now have to focus on the vacancy that will be created by his exit". "

"I don't have any interest in the GFA job but I believe we have capable Ghanaians who can handle the FA. Its good that we leave football for football people to manage just like how the boxers are now handling boxing but I'm not interested". Abedi averred

Kwesi Nyantakyi is set to call it quit on his FA position due to his growing responsibilities at both CAF and FIFA and names such as current veep George Afriyie, PFAG boss Anthony Baffoe and former GFA vice president Fred Pappoe have popped up as potential replacement to Nyantakyi
