The ‘One District, One Factory’ flagship policy of government is expected to take off in 47 districts in the country.

The construction of the first batch of factories is expected to commence from the fourth quarter of 2017.

A member of the government’s Economic Management team, Dr.Mark Asibe Yeboah has disclosed that GHC456 million has been set aside for the initial factories.

“The budget allocated GHC456 million for the One -District -One Factory Project which has been approved for the Program to take off. 47 districts have been identified, so the government is going to commence the Project this year with 47 districts, ” he told Koforidua-based Kingdom FM in an interview.

He stressed the Akufo-Addo led government is committed to fulfilling campaign promises made to Ghanaians particularly on job creation.

Dr. Asibe Yeboah who is also Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency in the Eastern region stated that government is fixing the challenges of the economy, adding that the recent changes in the tax regime, reduction of Policy rate and other prudent economic measures have started manifesting on the economic outlook of the country.

He called on Ghanaians to rally behind President Akufo-Addo in his quest to improve the living standards of Ghanaians.
