President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has used his Easter message to all Christians and Ghanaians to reiterate his unwavering commitment to fighting crime in the country.

While reminding celebrants of Easter to exemplify the sacrificial life of Christ, the President regretted the Kumasi Circuit court mayhem by the Delta Force promising to allow the laws of Ghana work without fear or favour under his watch.

In his Easter message on Good Friday 14 April, Mr Akufo-Addo encouraged Christians that the death and resurrection of Christ is a triumphant victory for them.

“During this period of joy and celebration, I urge all Christians to reflect on the important sacrifice Jesus Christ made for each of us on the cross of Calvary over 2000 years ago. Jesus’ death and resurrection from the grave are the triumphant victory for every Christian. It is victory for life over death, good over evil, and hope for every despondency. The Bible says in II Chronicles that ‘if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land,’” he stated.

“Let us, therefore, renew and strengthen our faith in God and emulate Christ’s example of sacrifice for the greater good. Let us continue to work for a dignified self-reliant and prosperous Ghana. A Ghana beyond aid, a Ghana mobilising its own material and human resources to build a stronger economy capable of building prosperity for the mass of its people, a Ghana no longer dependent on handouts and charity.”
