Preparations on the way to open Kumasi City Mall

Residents of Kumasi and its environs will be able to access both their basic necessities and luxuries from underneath one roof, when the highly anticipated Kumasi City Mall popularly referred to as KCM, in the Ashanti regional capital is opened on Thursday 20 April, 2017.

The Mall will provide the city with a modern location for business transactions, social interactions and entertainment.

Journalists in the region were taken round the facility to see the various stores including foodstuff/grocery, lifestyle, electronics, pharmaceuticals, gifts and high value jewelry, and the first of its kind movie theater ‘Watch and Dine’ among others.

Contractors were spotted busily putting finishing touches to their works ahead of the opening.

The $95 million dollar project is owned by Delico Kumasi Limited, which is a fully owned subsidiary of Delico Property Investments Ghana Limited, the same group which owns the West Hills Mall and the Achimota Retail Centre.

KCM will provide a ready market access for fresh produce and help improve farming techniques and quality control.



Addressing Journalists during the media tour, the Board Chairman of Delico Property Developments Limited and Kumasi City Mall Mr Kofi Sekyere explained that the media is a major stakeholder in their operations since the ground breaking of the West Hills Mall. He said the mall will serve as a unique and strategic rendezvous point for business, social interaction and recreation.

He assured that traffic surveillance has been done to prevent traffic which has the propensity to cause human and vehicular traffic.

He added that security features have been installed to detect any unforeseen robbery activity.



Kumasi City Mall’s unique design principals is specially designed to reflect the Kumasi environment and way of life. The edifice’s columns and ceilings are designed to portray and present an artistic view of the trees and forest elements which characterize the Ashanti Region. KCM promises to employ over a thousand workers in the metropolis which will have a positive social impact on the local economy
