The Head Coach of the Black Starlets of Ghana, Paa Kwesi Fabin, says his target is to qualify Ghana to the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup to be hosted by India, between 6 and 28 October.

Ghana has failed to qualify to the last four editions of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, dating back to 2007 when they last played in the tournament.

Ghana will be looking forward to win one of the four slots to represent Africa when they play in the 12th edition of the 2017 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations to be held from May 14 – 28 in Gabon.

According to the Paa Kwesi, he is confident his side will earn one of the slots to represent Africa.

“It’s been long a time the Black Starlets qualified for the World Cup so our prime target is to qualify for the World Cup,” Paa Kwesi told sportscrusader.com.

“We are preparing adequately for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations. We have played some series of friendly matches and I can say the boys are match ready for the tournament,” he added.
