Former France international Marcel Desailly has admitted being pressurized to apply for the Ghana coaching job.

His reaction comes few hours after a fan displayed a banner with his name as the next Black Stars coach during a Ghana Premier League game between Great Olympics and Bechem United at the Accra Sports Stadium Thursday afternoon.

Desailly is one personality who has frequently been linked to the job whenever there is the need for a new head coach in recent years.

While friends have encouraged the former World Cup and euros winner to show interest in the job, some administrators have suggested he be made the new Black Stars boss.

In 2010, the Ghana-born retired footballer was in the race for the job following the departure of Serbian Milovan Rajevac but eventually pulled out over some reservations regarding the process.

Desailly, 48, studied for his UEFA Pro License at the world renowned Welsh Football Trust training centre in 2016. He has since received his badge and completed a revalidation course prior to the summer last year but is yet to take up any managerial job.

The Ghana FA this week began receiving applications for the vacant position while it has also signaled a headhunting exercise as part of the process to hire the next Black Stars coach.
