GFA vice president George Afriyie disagrees with Sports Minister Nominee proposed quota for players in the Ghana Premier League to be selected into the Black Stars.
Hon Isaac Asiamah during his vetting, told Parliament’s Appointments Committee that he plans to get a quota for players who are based in Ghana to be selected into the Black Stars.

The issue of home-based players making it into the Black Stars has always been one that has divided opinions in Ghana but Management Committee chairman of the Black Stars believes the assertion of getting a percentage of Local’s into the team is wrong.

“I disagree with the sports minister in his call for a quota for local players into the Black Stars,”He told Kumasi based Sikka FM.

The argument stems from the fact that no home-based outfield player was selected from the Ghana Premier League into the team that represented Ghana at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations.
